According to Polish law, certain types of buildings must be equipped with <strong data-start=\"381\" data-end=\"400\">indoor hydrants<\/strong>, and their placement and use are defined by binding regulations. Detailed requirements are set out in the <strong data-start=\"507\" data-end=\"667\">Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of June 7, 2010, on fire protection of buildings, other construction facilities, and areas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"712\">Let\u2019s take a closer look at the rules.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"775\">Different Types of Hydrants and Their Applications<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"998\">Hydrants mainly differ in <strong data-start=\"803\" data-end=\"815\">diameter<\/strong>, which determines their water output. They also vary in hose design, reels, and cabinet construction. The numbers in their names indicate the internal hose diameter in millimeters.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1000\" data-end=\"2655\">\n<li data-start=\"1000\" data-end=\"1715\">\n<p data-start=\"1002\" data-end=\"1231\"><strong data-start=\"1002\" data-end=\"1019\">DN25 hydrants<\/strong> \u2013 applied in fire zones categorized as human hazard (ZL). Required in high-rise and tall buildings on every floor (except the floor classified as ZL), and in low- and medium-rise buildings on every floor when:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1715\">\n<li data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1290\">\n<p data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1290\">the fire zone exceeds 200 m\u00b2 (ZL I, ZL II, or ZL V),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1715\">\n<p data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1715\">the fire zone exceeds 200 m\u00b2 in a medium-rise ZL III building, or over 1000 m\u00b2 in a low-rise ZL III building.<br data-start=\"1404\" data-end=\"1407\" \/>DN25 hydrants are commonly used in public utility buildings and collective housing facilities such as schools, hotels, shopping centers, banks, offices, pharmacies, and stores. Their advantage lies in <strong data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1625\">ease of use<\/strong> and efficiency in areas where fires develop relatively slowly but are detected quickly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1717\" data-end=\"2032\">\n<p data-start=\"1719\" data-end=\"2032\"><strong data-start=\"1719\" data-end=\"1736\">DN33 hydrants<\/strong> \u2013 required in enclosed single-level garages with more than 10 parking spaces and in multi-level garages. Fires in these locations tend to be intense but confined to a specific area. DN33 hydrants are an excellent solution as they deliver a <strong data-start=\"1977\" data-end=\"1997\">large water flow<\/strong> while remaining easy to operate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2034\" data-end=\"2655\">\n<p data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2066\"><strong data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2053\">DN52 hydrants<\/strong> \u2013 used in:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2069\" data-end=\"2655\">\n<li data-start=\"2069\" data-end=\"2156\">\n<p data-start=\"2071\" data-end=\"2156\">fire zones (PM) with a fire load density above 500 MJ\/m\u00b2 and area exceeding 200 m\u00b2,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2159\" data-end=\"2245\">\n<p data-start=\"2161\" data-end=\"2245\">PM fire zones with rooms larger than 100 m\u00b2 and fire load density over 1000 MJ\/m\u00b2,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2248\" data-end=\"2655\">\n<p data-start=\"2250\" data-end=\"2655\">low- or medium-rise buildings at entrances to PM or technical rooms over 200 m\u00b2 with fire load density exceeding 500 MJ\/m\u00b2 located in ZL I, ZL II, ZL III, or ZL V zones.<br data-start=\"2419\" data-end=\"2422\" \/>Their use is justified in warehouses and industrial facilities, where fires are not always detected immediately and large quantities of materials intensify the hazard. DN52 hydrants ensure <strong data-start=\"2613\" data-end=\"2652\">fast and effective fire suppression<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2699\">Where Should They Be Installed?<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"2865\">During a fire, the presence of hydrants is not enough \u2013 <strong data-start=\"2757\" data-end=\"2789\">proper placement is critical<\/strong>. According to regulations, hydrants should be installed in particular at:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2867\" data-end=\"3251\">\n<li data-start=\"2867\" data-end=\"3016\">\n<p data-start=\"2869\" data-end=\"3016\">building entrances and stairwells on each floor (in high-rise buildings, DN52 valves are recommended in fire lobbies, permissible on staircases),<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3017\" data-end=\"3109\">\n<p data-start=\"3019\" data-end=\"3109\">passages and corridors, including lobbies and corridors of each floor in tall buildings,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3110\" data-end=\"3130\">\n<p data-start=\"3112\" data-end=\"3130\">attic entrances,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3131\" data-end=\"3251\">\n<p data-start=\"3133\" data-end=\"3251\">entrances to open spaces or emergency exits from production and storage rooms, especially in explosion-hazard areas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3253\" data-end=\"3432\">This placement ensures easy access, optimal coverage, and maximum firefighting efficiency.
